CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW 650 MW COMBINED CYCLE GAS TURBINE UNIT AT NAVOI TPP
Under the investment project “Construction of the third combined cycle gas turbine plant with a capacity of 650 MW at Navoi TPP”, between “Navoi TPP” JSC and Mitsubishi Power Ltd. was signed a contract worth $784.6 million dollars for realization of this project.
The project is implemented due to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from December 28, 2022 № PP-459 “On measures to implement the investment program of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2023-2025”.
Under the terms of the contract, Mitsubishi Power Ltd. will construct a new, modern and energy-efficient combined cycle gas turbine plant with capacity of 650 MW at Navoi TPP located in Karmana district of Navoi region.
The project implementation period is 2023-2026.
The investment project will be implemented with funding from the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
By introduction a modern and energy-saving equipment, as well as dismantling of low-efficient installations, there will be saved 1.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 347 new jobs will be created.
In addition, as a result of the project, the republic’s energy system will generate an additional 4,8 billion kWh of electricity per year.
