1 GW wind power plants with energy storage system unveiled during Macron’s visit to Kazakhstan
An agreement was signed at the meeting to create a joint venture to implement the project. President Tokayev expressed gratitude to Macron for his visit and emphasised the importance of partnership between Kazakhstan and France.
The discussions encompassed plans for expanding cooperation in diverse sectors, such as trade, economy, investments, and the initiation of fresh projects. Special focus was directed towards the transition to a sustainable “green” economy and the battle against climate change.
Emmanuel Macron additionally expressed France’s commitment to boosting its presence in Kazakhstan, not only within the energy sector but also across other domains, including the aerospace industry.

Subsequent to the discussions, both the Kazakh and French Presidents issued a joint statement. Official delegations from both nations signed the following documents:
– Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the French Republic on the establishment and operation of the French Development Agency Group in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
– Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the French Republic on the establishment of international (French) schools in the Republic of Kazakhstan and the instruction of the French language in secondary schools in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
– Joint declaration between Kazakhstan and France regarding intentions to collaborate on strategic minerals.
– Agreement on cooperation, licensing, and supply between JSC “NH QazBioPharm” and “Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health France” for the local production of a vaccine against foot-and-mouth disease in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
– Joint Venture Agreement for the project involving the construction of wind power plants with a total capacity of 1 GW, equipped with an energy storage system.
– Investment agreement for the execution of the project “Production and maintenance of railway locomotives and rolling stock, as well as components for railway equipment in the Republic of Kazakhstan.”
