Uzbekistan Urgench Airport PPP Project – Information Notice

The Government of Uzbekistan is preparing to issue a Request for Qualification (RfQ) for the
Reconstruction and management of Urgench International Airport project.
The Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan (“GoU”), through Uzbekistan Airports JSC (“UzAirports”),
Ministry of Transport (“MOT”) and the Ministry of Economy and Finance (“MEF”), is planning to implement a
Public Private Partnership (“PPP”) project for the reconstruction and management of Urgench International
Airport (the “Project”).
Urgench International Airport, situated in close proximity to the city of Urgench within Uzbekistan’s Khorezm
Region, functions as a pivotal transportation center for the area. Offering both domestic and international flights,
it serves as a vital link connecting passengers to destinations within Uzbekistan and abroad. Crucial for
fostering tourism and facilitating trade, Urgench International Airport provides essential air connectivity for both
locals and visitors alike. Notably, the airport caters to travellers exploring the historic city of Khiva, designated
as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
